Work conceived for the event “Estetica del Virtuale”, Private Conversation III is a dialogue with the city born from the comparison gathered between people who live the culture in the city that returns emotions, wishes, desire for autonomy and change. The video projection accompanied by audio widespread in the urban environment is part of the urban context to create the relational moment that the entire research projects. In the Mario Pagano square, point of greatest aggregation, Private Conversation III is the experience of one for the experience of all. The work illuminates the architecture to describe the interior of the buildings and their life. The first step in a series of installations in the city from the center to the peripheral districts, so as to demonstrate more and more that the culture and especially contemporary art, lives on the skin of all, ready to describe everyday real life, difficult and exciting.
My very private research tends to explore identity between private and public. The themes of memory and dreams are intertwined with the meticulous cataloging of the object and space, the narrative uses all the languages from the video to performance . Since 1999, my particular interest in public art is developed on the concept of an exchange of identity in a dynamic relationship with the viewer and the artists that gravitate around the work of art in progress Orfeo hotel contemporary art project.since 2004.
The basic elements of all my research are identity and memory.
I focus on the exploration of identity, on the exchange of identity, and the multiple choice studying theories ranging from psychology to quantum physics as the Many Worlds Interpretation of physicist Hugh Everett. My very private research tends to transpose the story from my private to audience.
Narrative uses all the languages from the video to performance with a focus on site-specific public art. The sharing of identity in a dynamic of exchange is the cornerstone of my testing on the centrality of the user, never intended as a passive element, but as a participant in the creative act, in search of a closer and closer contact, more intimate between me and the other, through the creation of works heavily relational which in turn represent later stages of a process of possible identification.
Identity and memory, imagined in their being, in their constant change, involve the concept of growth, but also of loss. Memory, in fact, in its game of remembering and forgetting builds a puzzle of our lives, where everyone can find the missing piece, the one that could give meaning to all experience, to capture life in images and sensations that symbolically represent it. The reflection on the elapsing time as construction of space experience, leads to a “own” time that can be summed up linearity and continuity only by souvenirs. This reflection embraces the past but also the future, becoming aware of loss and fear of loss, then the idea of capturing the memories and imprisoning the objects, those that can enhance the power of memory, in a symbolic space that contains them and keep them, out of its ambiguous play, polysemantic techas that build Wunderkammer.
